MerryLegs is a 10.1 hand Shetland pony which translates to 41 inches.  She will be 10 years old  this year.  She looks like a white pony, but underneath it all she is really a pinto which you can only see in the summetime.  Though she looks white, she also has a white blaze which is very interesting to see white on white.  MerryLegs is a classic looking Shetland pony and has the sweetest nature of any pony I have ever owned.  She may have a trace of Welsh pony in her which is where she gets her pretty dished shaped head.

She is also the most photogenic and can't take a bad picture even if her eyes are closed...see one of the attached photos.  MerryLegs was named after the little white pony in the book/movie Black Beauty.  She is round and rolly polly just like the pony MerryLegs in the movie. 

MerryLegs was truly love at first sight for us when we first saw her.  She has always been so sweet and cuddly and doesen't have a mean bone in her body.  She loves to trot and has a cute little short strided one.  Right now she is very fuzzy with lots of winter coat and it makes her look even chubbier.  She is a typical Shetland pony and can be a bit lazy especially if she thinks there is food around such as hay, oats, an apple or something sweet.

MerryLegs has been a wonderful little pony party pony and is a favorite with many of the kids. She has also been used in parades and been shown in english pony classes. She has won a few firsts and several other ribbons. She is best friends with Flicka but she adores her boyfriend Midnight. She loves to follow him around and will go anywhere as long as he is with her.

If Merrylegs was a person she would be like the most popular girl in school.  All of the mare horses like Merrylegs and especially all of our male horses like her.  She is the sweetest pony I've ever owned and truly dosen't have a mean bone in her body.  She is also the most vocal pony I've ever owned.   When horses or ponies walk by her paddock or stall she will give the sweetest neigh to them.   She will also neigh a greeting to me every single time I come out the door of the house.  But she is still a pony at heart and can be very mischevious like typical ponies and will escape from her paddock in a heartbeat.   Read Flicka's bio to know all the details of their great escape back in 2007 that had us and the Youngsville Police looking for them.

(Parents please note:  (Shetland ponies can carry up to 100 lbs. and Midnight no more than 140 lbs.  Part of this is due to the size of the saddles.)
